The Backbone is a 25-inch detachable sissy bar with passenger backrest, built for 2009–2026 Harley-Davidson Street Glide models.
Compatible with Original Harley-Davidson 4-Point Docking Hardware Kit
If your Street Glide already has the original H-D 4-point docking hardware, the Backbone mounts on the docking points and comes off quickly when you ride solo. No docking hardware yet? Use the original H-D kit or add our Wings Custom Docking Hardware Kit when placing your order. Docking hardware is not included with the sissy bar.
Note: The Backbone cannot be used with a tour pack installed. If your Street Glide has one (including factory-mounted tour packs on Street Glide Ultra and Street Glide Limited models), it must be removed before installing the sissy bar. Not compatible with the H-D detachable luggage rack mounted at the same time.
25 Inches of Real Back Support for Your Passenger:
Most factory Touring backrests are much shorter. At 25 inches, the Backbone supports your passenger's mid and upper back, not just the lower back. That makes a real difference on long highway days. On a Street Glide, it balances the batwing fairing up front with a tall, bold line at the rear, giving the bagger a complete, custom profile.
The padded passenger backrest comes included, so it's ready to ride out of the box.

Welding:
Every joint is TIG welded for strong, clean and precise welds.
Paint Finish:
The surface is fully cleaned and pre-treated before we apply an electrostatic polyester powder coat (Politherm 26 family). The result is a finish with excellent adhesion and flexibility, high resistance to weather and chemicals, and no yellowing over time. The process uses no volatile solvents, which makes it cleaner than conventional wet paint.
